Position summary

Position provides maintenance support for the Cleveland Data Center and campus. Maintains all mechanical and electrical systems in the Cleveland complex. Aids outside vendors/contractors for specialized maintenance, repairs, and mechanical projects. Supervises engineering team and provides project management at the direction of the Chief Engineer. Enthusiastic about learning new systems, openness to improving upon existing practices, and a goal-oriented mindset.

This position reports to the Chief Engineer.

Essential Job Functions

  • Supervise and direct maintenance staff in completing daily tasks
  • Estimates time and materials needed to complete repairs and new projects
  • Oversees and inspects the work performed by outside contractors
  • Responsible for creating projects plans and simple budgets for internal projects for presentation to management
  • Able to write method of procedures governing preventative maintenance of critical equipment
  • Work with contractors and vendors in order to get quotes for work and implement work once approved
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment including, but not limited to refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, emergency backup systems and other utility building systems.
  • Monitors operation of, adjusts and maintains refrigeration, chilled water and air conditioning equipment; pumps, valves, piping and filters; Does the same on all other mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determining the root cause of all problems and malfunctions and to take corrective action as required
  • Able to read complex building drawings and schematics
  • Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives related to building operations and work safety
  • Responsible for checking stock of supplies and materials and placing orders with vendors as required
  • Responsible for managing maintenance work order software, including uploading new work orders as required
  • Will manage the building engineering team when the Chief is not present
  • Able to write operations procedures and standards
  • Responsible for training of new building engineers
  • Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines


  • Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 5 years of experience in a data Center environment. 5 years experience related to building management
  • Experience in supervising others and managing projects
  • 2 years experience with building automation systems, Johnson Controls, Metasys preferred
  • Back-end BMS controls experience a bonus
  • Uses personal computer for work order system, email, ESS and training. Above average skills with Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more



  • Position summary

    The primary goal of an H5 Security Officer is to ensure the safety and security of the facility, its occupants, and its assets. The Security Officer works towards this goal through daily patrols, reporting, surveillance monitoring and controlling access to and from the facility. The Security Officer will also serve as customer support for customer calls and emails, customer ticket requests, shipping and receiving, and policy enforcement.

    The position reports to the Security Manager.

    Essential Job Functions

  • Safeguard the H5 Cleveland Data Center, its occupants, and its assets
  • Complete interior and exterior foot patrols to ensure safety and security
  • Monitor Video Surveillance and Access Controls Systems, investigating any suspicious activity
  • Manage and Monitor Daily Building Access for employees, tenants, contractors, technicians, and visitors utilizing computer systems
  • Monitor fire, building, and network management systems to ensure building integrity and safety
  • Utilize Online AccessH5 Portal Ticketing System, Tracking, Incident Reporting, and Daily Shift Reports
  • Complete approved badging requests as indicated in the AccessH5 Portal
  • Shipping and Receiving for the facility
  • Regularly use email, Microsoft office, internet, phones, radios, and intercoms

  • Schedule Requirements

  • Must be able to work weekends
  • Must be able to work all shifts, including 3rd shift (overnight)
  • Schedule will be set, reoccurring, unless business needs demand otherwise

  • Position summary

    The Operations/Security Supervisor helps maintain and improve the physical facility, responds to customer requests, performs basic data communications tasks, and oversees the operations/security team.

    The position reports to the Data Center Facility Manager.

    Essential Job Functions

  • Respond to customer remote hands requests. Power cycle equipment, replace memory or disk drives, etc.
  • Competence in building management, access control, video management and other data center application systems.
  • Configure and install video cameras and physical access controllers.
  • Help maintain cleanliness and appearance of data center.
  • Provide training and oversight for contract operations staff.
  • Relieve and back-up operations staff member while rounds are being conducted.
  • Interact with and assist contractors performing tasks at the data center.
  • Assist sales manager while touring prospective customers.
  • Provision customer suites for new customers (including nstall power modules, run copper and fiber cable between communications devices, terminate Cat-5e cables (RJ-45), test circuit continuity, label and document network cabling).
  • Second-level escalation point for all data center operations issues including afterhours support.
  • Fill in for Facility Manager in their absence.
  • Assist in annual audits.
  • Periodic maintenance and enhancement projects.
  • Refined customer service orientation.
  • Perform troubleshooting and fault assessment on electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Physically able to perform maintenance and remedial tasks on HVAC units, i.e., replace condenser fan motors in HVAC units.

  • Position summary

    The Managers role is to implement and support the operation of production and corporate network infrastructure within the H5 Colocation facilities nationwide. This includes the design, installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimizing all network hardware, software (IOS), and communication links while assuring maximum system availability. Test and evaluate network systems to avoid problems, build higher resilience and improve reliability. The person will also provide second level support, diagnose and resolve complex network problems. This position will be responsible for leading a team of Data Center Support Engineers supporting IT systems in conjunction with customer Remote Hands support. This position entails developing implementation plans with customers and executing to meet specified deadlines and expectations.

    Position is located in the South Denver metropolitan area. Candidate must be willing to provide on-call support.

    Essential Job Functions

  • Manages IT Support and Remote Hands team.
  • Prioritize team workloads and delegation of tasks, ensuring quality control and best practice adherence.
  • Analyze customer requirements and create project implementation plans.
  • Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure network capacity meets existing and future requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans.
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory, life cycle management and related documentation.
  • Serve as second level support technician to assist in the diagnosis and resolution of customer outages and chronic customer problems. May have to take the lead on crisis calls.
  • Strong hands-on experience supporting multi-vendor platform (Cisco, Juniper, etc.), configuring routers, firewalls and switches, and troubleshooting networks.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IP and associated routing protocols.
  • Proven implementation and understanding of current WAN topologies.

  • Ensure desktop and laptop computers interconnect seamlessly with systems including servers, email servers, and application servers.
  • Administration of user accounts, permissions, and access rights in AD.


  • Customer Support

  • Analyze, diagnose, and resolve network problems as part of third level support. On-call.
  • Consults with colocation customers on a regular basis, gathering project requirements and developing and implementing cost effective solutions.
  • Create Root Cause analysis reports on major incidents and track improvement plans.
  • Support internal corporate user community with desktop/laptops, mobile devices, office applications, voice, LAN technologies.
  • Liaise with vendors (Verizon, AT&T, CenturyLink, Zayo, Cisco etc.) on problem diagnosis, design and new technologies.


  • Education and Experience

  • College (4+ years) in computer/network related field.
  • 5+ years in a managerial / supervisory role.
  • Possesses and maintains current knowledge and understanding of Network Protocols (TCP/IP, frame relay, VPN, SSL BGP, EIGRP, ISIS).
  • Excellent knowledge of logical data flow for physical Network and Logical host. This will assist in designing, diagnosing issues and problem solving.
  • Experience in deploying and supporting wireless technologies.
  • Experience in the convergent technologies (voice, video).
  • Strong understanding of Telco transport terminology and concepts required.
  • Working knowledge of security products. (firewalls, IPS, Virus software).
  • Comprehensive understanding of data center best practices and cabling standards.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • The ability to work well in a team environment or independently with minimal supervision.
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft & Apple desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of SQL DB.
  • Working Knowledge of PC Hardware, Server, and software technologies.
  • Fundamental knowledge of telephony systems.


  • Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum of four years planning and supporting a large Cisco centric network is essential.
  • CCNA and CCNP required. CCIE, or CISSP preferred.
  • BICSI Certification preferred.
  • CISSP Certification a plus.
  • MCSE Certification a plus.

  • Position summary

    The Data Center Support Technician is responsible for the managing to operational integrity of the H5 Data Centers facility. They oversee the physical security operations ensuring the overall site integrity while maintaining all aspects of access control and surveillance of the location. Additionally, they are responsible to act as a single point of contact for all customer engagement on a daily basis handing incoming calls, ticket processing, incident management & coordination. Individuals will be required to perform basic remote hands and escort duties on behalf of customers. Finally, they will monitor the health of all critical systems including building management, fire control, camera surveillance, access control, and network. The candidate must be willing to work shifts and weekends.
