Position summary

Commitment to leading a mission critical environment that values continuous improvements. This position manages the installation and maintenance of all mechanical systems at the Denver Data Center and Operations of specialized cooling systems. Acts as an Engineering resource for the complete H5 portfolio of mission critical facilities. Plans and monitors the Building Management System and mechanical measurements. Maintains design documentation. Provides full life-cycle support to H5 Data Centers from concept design through site implementation and operations.
This position reports to the Vice President Colocation and Data Center Operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in all aspects of mechanical design and engineering including development of basis of design, scope of work, implementation processes and commissioning plans
  • Supports maintenance of all Denver mechanical systems to ensure 100% system availability
  • Lead, review, and approve designs for data center upgrades which improve availability and efficiency, in addition to capacity increases and monitoring
  • Update and maintain as-built master records, which includes transferring project drawings over to the master files
  • Compare existing piping and HVAC systems against drawings and resolve discrepancies
  • Develop and manage processes and programs to ensure the health and efficiencies of mechanical systems within the data center
  • Develops or reviews maintenance procedures for all mechanical systems including detailed scripts for annual maintenance and projects
  • Support Operational teams in problem resolutions, Root Cause Analysis and design and process reviews
  • Provide immediate technical support to operation teams during critical events, on-call
  • Administers all aspects of the mechanical service agreements to ensure compliance
  • Maintains all HVAC and mechanical drawings and process documentation for the Denver facility
  • Manages Energy efficiency
  • Responsible for increasing efficiencies and maintaining reliability of all mechanical systems
  • Estimates time and materials needed to complete repairs and new projects.


  • Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years in data center mechanical design, commissioning and critical system support
  • Experience in Data Center design, construction and commissioning including water cooled chiller plants, complex mechanical distribution systems, raised floor cooling system, automation and control systems
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
  • Understanding of data center mechanical operations procedures, topologies (N+1, 2N, N+20%, etc.), equipment, piping systems, cooling towers etc.
  • Ability to refine mechanical system designs for availability, quality control, constructability, and cost efficiencies
  • Understanding of both HVAC and mechanical equipment and system design
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with top tier analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Organized, detailed and successful at setting priorities and meeting deadlines and budget
  • Comprehensive use of AutoCAD, Visio and Office software packages
  • Project Manager experience is a plus
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

    Position summary

    Position provides maintenance support for the H5 Data Centers facilities and campus. Operates all mechanical and electrical systems in the facility. Provides assistance to outside vendors/contractors for specialized maintenance, repairs, and mechanical projects. This position reports to the Facility Manager.



    Essential Job Functions

    • Accountable for infrastructure systems uptime, monitoring critical systems within tolerances, frequent building inspections while providing reliable service delivery to Colocation customers.
    • Operation of all mechanical and electrical systems in a reliable and cost-effective manner for the complex.
    • Effectively learn and utilize building controls systems of chiller plants, HVAC systems, cooling towers, other water systems, and fire systems.
    • Provide maintenance support for all mechanical and environmental systems, make repair suggestions, while providing feedback and improvement recommendations for the procedures.
    • Ability to climb and work from ladders, man hoists or lifts, and the ability to lift and carry heavy loads (up to 50lbs.).
    • Contribute to minor repairs and light duty construction which includes physical structures, plumbing systems, wide range of HVAC equipment, and electrical distribution.
    • Oversees third party activities and services.
    • Assist in some very basic security related duties.

    Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of electrical and mechanical experience working in High Availability (Data Centers, Manufacturing, Hospital) environments.
  • College/Technical degree preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work related experience.

  • Experience

    • Electric/pneumatic controls operation.
    • Assist in the formulation, implementation, and adherence to safety policies and procedures related to the daily operations of the facilities. Participation in safety, knowledge and skills training.
    • Previous military experience a plus.
    • CFC refrigeration license a plus

Additionally, they are responsible for acting as a single point of contact for all customer engagement daily, handling incoming calls, ticket processing, incident management & coordination. Individuals will be required to perform basic remote hands and escort duties on behalf of customers. They will monitor the health of all critical systems including building management, fire control, camera surveillance, access control, and network.. The DCST Lead will ensure all work performed strictly adheres to H5 policies, guidelines and standards. The Data Center Support Technician Lead is responsible for managing and supporting the Data Center Support Technician team, including scheduling, writing, or updating H5 processes and SOPs, and acting as a point of escalation for customer issues. Expertise in the essential duties below is expected. May be required to be on-call. The candidate must be willing to work shifts and weekends.

        Education

      • College education (4+ years) with a bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology preferred

    Position summary

    The Data Center Chief Engineer provides maintenance support and management for the assigned Data Centers. Maintains all mechanical, electrical, and IT systems in the facilities. Provides general project management direction over all data center facility repairs and change/ install/ expansion efforts. Enthusiastic about learning new systems, openness to improving upon existing practices, and have a goal-oriented mindset. The Data Center Chief Engineer reports directly to the Facility Manager.



    Essential Job Functions

    • Maintain 100% uptime in Colocation data center critical facility.
    • Draft and Maintain Standard Maintenance Requirements (SMRs) and periodicities each datacenter, building, or campus based on local and other code requirements, OEM recommendations, and Industry “Best Practices.”
    • Ensures operating parameters and SMR processes, procedures, and frequencies are completed as prescribed.
    • Responsible for efficiency and maintaining reliability of all mechanical systems.
    • Contribute to creating tracking and maintaining operational budget for facility.
    • Estimate time and materials needed to complete repairs and new projects.
    • Assist in the change management process including maintaining associated documentation.
    • Establish maintenance contracts with vendors as necessary for performance of all required maintenance..
    • Directs, oversees, and inspects the work performed by outside contractors..
    • Responsible for working within H5 teams, creating project plans and budgets for internal projects and presentation to management.
    • Draft and Maintain Method of Procedures (MOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) governing preventative maintenance of critical equipment.
    • ICW associated site Facility Manager, Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCAs) efforts for applicable problems and malfunctions involving critical infrastructure. Including determining details/timeline of the incident, all contributing factors, developing and tracking all associated corrective actions and process improvements associated with event.

    Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), bachelor’s degree and/or professional/technical certification in related field strongly preferred.

  • Experience

    • Comprehensive knowledge of industrial HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical systems, Fire/Life safety systems, and control systems with a heavy emphasis on mechanical. EPA Section 608 Technician Certification - Universal Type is highly desired.
    • 5 years of experience in a Data Center environment.
    • 10 years’ experience related to building management.
    • 5 years’ experience with building automation systems.
    • Experience in supervising others and managing project.


    Compensation range $75,000-$90,000 annually

    Position summary

    The Facility Manager provides site and customer oversight, maintenance support and management for the Data Center and/or campus. Maintains all mechanical, electrical, and IT systems in the facility in support of our customers. Direct Supervision of the Data Center Support Technician (DCST) team if applicable and provides coordinated direction over all data center facility repairs and change/ install/ expansion efforts. Maintains the data center campus landscape and irrigation. Reviews, approves, and processes all financial and accounts payable for the site. This position manages and schedules the facilities Data Center Support Technicians, Building Engineers and contractors. This position reports to the Director or VP of Operations.

    Essential Job Function

    • Maintain 100% availability in Colocation data center critical facility
    • Provides supervision to the team of Data Center Support Technicians, contractors and/or Building Engineers.
    • Manage staff providing schedules, training, preparedness and growth
    • Manages operation and maintenance of all environmental and power systems to ensure 100% availability to raised floors including building management system control and coordinating efforts with contractors
    • Review, code, and approve all accounts payable activity for the site
    • May review and approve all customer charges for the facility
    • Responsible for customer support and satisfaction
    • Estimates time and materials needed to complete repairs and new projects
    • Contribute to creating, tracking and maintaining operational budget for facility
    • Directs, oversees, supervises and inspects the work performed by outside contractors
    • Provides for 24x7x365 on call support to provide continuous operations
    • Manage all contracts, procedures and service agreements to ensure proper compliance
    • Responsible for managing maintenance work order and asset tracking software, including uploading new work orders and processes as required
    • Ensures operating parameters and maintenance processes, procedures, and frequencies are adhered to, updated, and developed as necessary
    • Maintains all drawings, project documentation, and space planning for the site
    • Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives related to building operations and work safety
    • Responsible for building management system control and coordinating efforts with controls contractors
    • Responsible for managing maintenance work order and asset tracking software, including uploading new work orders and processes as required
    • Write and track root cause of all problems and malfunctions taking corrective action and process improvements as required
    • Communicate complex technical information to multiple people with various levels of technical knowledge
    • Responsible for increasing efficiencies and maintaining reliability of all mechanical and electrical systems
    • Risk analysis and creation of scopes of work related to preventative maintenance and resolution needs on building and facility equipment
    • Communicate to visitors, vendors, contractors, customers, and management daily


    Qualifications

    • Comprehensive knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, industrial HVAC, and Plumbing systems
    • Strong team management, coaching, & leadership abilities
    • 5 years experience with building automation systems, EATON Foreseer or Vigilent controls experience a plus
    • Excellent customer service
    • High level interpersonal communication skills
    • Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines
    • Comprehensive knowledge of Office software packages required and abilities in AutoCAD, and/ or Visio a plus



    Education

    • 5 years of experience in a Data Center environment
    • 5 years experience related to commercial facility and supporting system management
    • Experience with building automation systems, implementation and management
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
    • Bachelor's Degree and/or professional certifications in related field(s) preferred.




    Skills and Abilities
    • Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs.
    • Able to read complex building drawings and schematics.
    • Able to evaluate the importance and urgency of projects based on cost, risk, safety, etc.

    Compensation range $135,0000-$145,000 annually
