Get to Know Lance Walker

What's your role at H5 Data Centers?

I am the Facility Manager for H5 Data Center's downtown San Antonio carrier hotel/edge data center. The site encompasses over 85,000 square feet and features direct access to key Texan metro and long haul network providers.

What do you enjoy most about working with H5?

The diverse yet small workforce that makes up H5. I am surrounded by the best and brightest in this industry and can't wait to contribute to H5's mission. I enjoy having the autonomy to deliver world-class service to my customers and being at the leading edge of H5's growth into the San Antonio Data Center market.

Do you have any unique experiences before working in the data center field?

I was blessed to serve 21 years in critical power in the USAF, given me a broad breadth of experience. With this background, I was invited to be a member of the Technical Standards Committee of the International Data Center Authority.

If you could go back in time to any decade which would it be and why?

I would love to go back to the sixties. That was the pinnacle of auto racing to me. The Fuel Altered class in drag racing was crazy, and we will never see anything like it again. Ford winning the 24 Hours of Lemans was huge as well.

Where is your next vacation or where would you like to travel?

I would love to see the Isle of Mann TT Motorcycle race, one of the most dangerous racing events in the world. Full throttle racing around a 37-mile course on regular roads.
