Get to Know Elizabeth Williams

What's your role at H5 Data Centers?

I am the Director of Compliance.

Do you have any female mentors or role models throughout your professional career?

I've been fortunate to cross paths with many brilliant woman who were achieving levels of success that I also wanted to achieve and I learned a great deal from all of them, whether they were colleagues or clients. One role model in particular, Suzi Earhart, gave me the most invaluable advice on how to advance my career and fortunately for me, I took it!

What’s one piece of advice you would give young women interested in a career in the tech industry?

The same advice that was given to me - own your expertise with confidence and find your voice. Do not allow others to tell you your value.

Do you have any unique experiences before working in the data center field?

I actually went to school to become a professor of ethics and religion and taught at both the University of Georgia and Vanderbilt.

What emerging trends or technologies do you see shaping the future of compliance in data centers?

There's a lot of regulatory technology solutions on the market now that allow organizations to automate risk and compliance workflows which makes keeping up with the rapidly changing regulatory landscape so much more efficient. As these solutions become more sophisticated and leverage AI, it becomes easier to monitor and enforce compliance in real-time, minimizing risks and reducing costs. That's about as exciting as things can get in the compliance world!
